From the pen of G.P. Jindal,
Secretory.

At present there are 14 lac govt. schools in India and there in a shortage of 9 lac teachers in these schools. Many of the schools are running on the strength of a single teacher. When these vacancies will be filled and the schools run smoothly? It is not easy to fill these vacancies in near future. As such for the education of children of poor people without any financial burden on them, some NGO’s have to come forward. When centre and state governments are unable to give education to all (inspite of passing RTE Act) it becomes the responsibility of the society to help in this matter. Otherwise many of the children will grow without education and with this many more problems will arise. This force of uneducated people will fetch the country background and the vicious circle of lack of education, unemployment, poverty, use of drugs and other intoxicants, habit of stealing and thefts and other problems of law-lessness etc. will start. Today’s developed countries have developed on the strength of education for all. If, we in India want to develop, we have to fix our aim of education to all.

We must remember that at present 14 lac children are not going to primary schools in our country. If we want to do something for have-nots, then we must make arrangements for the education of their children. As they are unable to afford to send their children to schools, it becomes the duty of the socially awakened people that their children get education without any fee etc. Arrangement may be made in such a way that these poor people are not to be bothered for fee, books, stationery or any kind of financial burden. This can only be done if some totally free schools are opened in slum areas. It is a proved fact that education do play its role in the progress and prosperity of society. Koshish Charitable Society (Regd.) has
taken an initiation and has opened their first free school in a slum area-Guru Ram Dass Nagar.

It is in deed a humble KOSHISH on the part of members of Koshish Charitable Society, where each and every member is adament to do maximum for the welfare of our deprived brethren.
